it’s a bit early in the day for a post but wanted to add this fun update:
Gracie grabbed one of her toys & wanted to play! Definitely a sign of recovering nicely! 🙂 She’s running around outside & has shown some interest in wanting to dig to go after the numerous moles/chipmunks, etc, in the yard. But her first attempt to dig caused her to topple. To be honest if she’s never able to dig again we won’t be too disappointed :-~ – our yard is a mess w/ her constant digging.
other recovery notes: potty behavior seems back to normal. She yelped a couple of times this morning but I can’t see any reason “why” & otherwise acting very chipper.

Thanks kyoule for the kong suggestion. I’ll dig out Gracie’s & give it a try. She quit using the kong many yrs ago because she loved the hidden treats ball that rolls around releasing the treats. The kong will be good ’cause it’ll keep her in one spot. I’m looking forward to when she’s once again able to use the ball too cause she has so much fun w/ it. I hope her balance isn’t being affected by the cone. She seems to be running around pretty good, w/ a funny little wiggle. I need to try to get a video showing the wiggle. My main concern/over-protection is to keep the incision healing w/out more delay caused by licking or tearing the scab off. I’ll have to look for the lick guard. Is it at pet stores?
Allison, thanks for your note too! The greyhound muzzle sounds perfect as a lick guard! Maybe some one reading these posts will design a variety for use w/ other breeds. I definitely look forward to a few weeks from now!
