Day 7 Post Op

I don’t want to jinx anything but today is seeming to be better.

Best thing so far the area where the incision became inflamed, to me, looks better.

She hasn’t had any pain med since the night before last, so ???? maybe that could be helping a bit (in regard to her demeanor)? I don’t want to give the impression she’s doing great, but you know how you can tell things are better. I did some yard work in back hoping to entice her outside. She came out, but, a bit weird, she went to an area where she likes to eat grass, ate just a little, then just sat there for about 30 minutes. Then she darted under a parked car in the driveway – w/ her cone on – so it was kind-of a tight fit but I was able to coax her out w/out too much trauma. Her ‘guard dog’ personality is returning a bit. She barked at delivery truck & mail but just sits on the steps barking instead of dashing out to see what’s up. She sat on the back step for another 30 minutes or so w/ her ears perked up seeming to be interested in “outside” so that’s an improvement.

She still hasn’t ventured out to go potty on her own. Now that she’s back on the prednisone I’m expecting her to need to go more often but so far it hasn’t happened.
