another milestone :-)

maybe a silly one to  blog about, but Gracie had her first bath post-op today. What makes that a milestone is it’s because her paws & muzzle were caked w/ mud. Yep, she’s able to dig after-all.

we both need to learn what tricks are suggested for bathtub bathing. She’s a bit unsteady on the slippery tub & especially so when the call to shake hits! Pre-surgery days after a bath she’d run like a maniac thru the house, leaping on furniture & rolling in/on everything available. Today after the bath she didn’t do any running – might have been very tired after a morning spent outside digging, or maybe she’s learning what she can’t do…

Oh there is never anything too silly to blog about here! Didja ever think you’d be hoppy about Gracie digging in the mud???!

That’s wonderful that she had her first post-surgery bath!

As far as bathing tips, I dunno because no dawg in our house has ever been bathed in a tub. What about no-slip bath mats?

we have an old time rubber bath mat that helps with the slipping. wet feet on tile can be very dangerous, so we’re glad gracie didn’t want to be too ‘crazy’ after her bath.

If you don’t have a bath mat you could throw an old towel down on the floor of the tub to provide traction too. During the winter months we do that for bathtime. During the summer we bathe the dogs outside.
